Generalni plan (english)

1. Central event – “All Different – All Equal” day – The value of diversity
On 12th of May 2007, we plan to launch the organised campaign activities in Serbia. This will coincide with the day when Serbia is taking presidency over Council of Europe and we wanted to mark this significant moment (it is the first time Serbia is presiding over Council of Europe) and use the opportunity to explain to people what Council of Europe (CoE) is and what is the bases for cooperation within this important intergovernmental organisation. The values of diversity, human rights and participation that are in core of CoE values will be thematically presented through common action in as many as 10 or more towns in Serbia.

On this day in all the towns where our member organisations are from, we will organise public launching with street action at same time with campaign material, banners and common message of understanding and equality.

We aim to further develop the action. At the moment we are considering plan to release hundreds of black and white balloons in the air at 1pm throughout Serbia symbolising freedom of movement and have the visa mobility message as a focal issue of the day (eg. Don’t be afraid to be different!).

Mobility of people is one of the fundamental human rights; it supports diversity and enables participation. All this leads to conclusion that it reflects to a great extent all 3 aims of the campaign. Other actions will be developed in consultation between members through share of ideas and visions and will then be shaped to reflect the local perspective and setting by each town group.

2. Participation weeks – Taking responsibility for the world around us
We aim to set two other join public actions for the week at beginning of September (3-9) and the week at beginning of October (1-7), reflecting the start of the school year for High school and University students. A set of common activities developed by the campaign through input from the member organisation will take place in schools and faculties.

Beginning of new school year is perfect timing to introduce students, with freshmen in focus, to wonderful world of social activism, civil society development and diverse participation opportunities. Throughout the week our town team made up of local organisations taking part in the campaign will promote the campaign in and around schools and faculties with common actions and additionally will be encouraged to create specific actions in order to motivate young people to join civil society organisations and actions.

We will use same material and focus on promotion of campaign values and introduction to student organisations and parliaments, human rights and volunteers’ organisations, European youth programs and other forms of activism. We want to use these two weeks to make sure that people know of the opportunities and possibilities they can acquire in addition to formal education they are receiving.

3. Week of human rights – STOP discrimination, JOIN the action!
We aim to use the period full of different international days, all related to important issues of the society (World aids day, human rights day, etc. (ADD EXACT DATES AND NAMES HERE!!!!). This week should start with world aids day, 1. December and continue with actions taking place around other important days that follow.

During these days we aim to concentrate on discriminated people, due to their disability, nationality or culture, race, sexual orientation, health issues, etc. With set of coordinated actions in different communities and NOT street actions we aim to come closer to people in need and understand their views and standpoints. It will be our aim to make practical actions to all other people of how important it is to respect and support all individuals and also provide those groups or individuals with different tools and opportunities to join the efforts in making the change in the society.
